Blogtober Day 9: Let the games begin

Sorry for the crappy photo quality—my mom took a picture with her phone of a picture in a scrapbook and texted it to me.

Yesterday marked the start of hockey season, and I couldn’t be more excited.

I grew up watching hockey—my brother started playing at the age of 4, and my dad coached him until he graduated and played in the men’s league for a few years. Jake’s games were always more exciting, but hockey is hockey, right?

When Jake graduated from high school, he turned in his hockey stick for a golf club.

I miss watching him play, and when the NHL season starts back up, I get super excited.

I’ll be parked in front of the TV tonight watching the Minnesota Wild take on the Colorado Avalanche, and then the Columbus Blue Jackets are on. If I had to pick one team as my favorite, I would pick the Wild every time.
