It’s been a little over a week since we moved into our house in Northside. Needless to say, things have been a little crazy.
Andrew’s dad was spectacular and came to help us move. And let me tell you, we needed all the help we could get. It didn’t help that it was about 80 degrees on moving day.
We had some more company last week, when my mom, grandma and aunts came to visit. They were a huge help in clearing some of the huge boxes out of our way. We also took a trip to IKEA and picked up a kitchen table and chairs. (And yes, we did have a table and chairs in our apartment, but it’s too big for the little nook in our new kitchen, so it’s been banished to the basement.)
We also had to fashion a pantry out of some shelves, since the kitchen didn’t have enough cupboard space after we put all of our appliances away. These are four Closetmaid Cubical shelving units from Target—they’re stacked on top of each other and facing different directions to give a more unique feel.
We’re still in the process of putting things away, and the walls are still bare. Since Andrew and I are both busy with work, it’s hard to get anything accomplished. I guess it’s a good thing I have two days off this week—maybe I’ll get something done. Or maybe I’ll just curl up with a book…. (The second book in the Mortal Instruments series is calling my name.)
But on the bright side, my coffee/tea bar is complete!
