“Before there was sex, before there was the city, there was just me. Carrie Bradshaw.” — The Carrie Diaries
The Carrie Diaries is a cross between high school drama and the grown-up world; boy problems and high fashion; following the rules and living your life. As a prequel to Sex and the City, The Carrie Diaries introduces the next generation to Carrie Bradshaw. Well, the 16-year-old, 1980s Carrie Bradshaw, who is played by AnnaSophia Robb.
She’s just lost her mom to cancer and is navigating the choppy waters of high school, while dealing with her trouble-making little sister Dorrit. Did I mention Sebastian Kydd, the Richy Rich of suburban Connecticut, who has his eyes on Carrie?
In the show, Carrie takes an internship at a law firm in NYC, where she meets the eccentric Larissa, who is the style editor at Interview magazine. She introduces Carrie to the NYC way of life, where daylight never comes and the night goes on forever.
Tune in Mondays at 8/7c to see how Ms. Bradshaw goes from 16-year-old model child to NYT columnist and man magnet.
