As my former roommates constantly remind me, Christmas can’t begin until the day after Thanksgiving. But I broke that rule this year: our tree and our apartment are already decorated. (We’re going to be gone for like five days over Thanksgiving, and I didn’t want to deal with it when we got home. So give me a break.)
A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon this blog post on Pinterest about a husband and wife who decided to go on 12 dates throughout the Christmas season. Their list is, of course, a suggestion, so I decided to write my own list for hubby and I.
First Date: Decorate Christmas tree (and house) — check!
Third Date: Black Friday shopping — check!
Fourth Date: Movie marathon
Fifth Date: Shop for Christmas PJs (Target has some super cute ones) — check!
Sixth Date: Ice skating at Fountain Square
Seventh Date: Make a “holiday” dinner
Eighth Date: Bake Christmas cookies — check! (Well, I baked the cookies and we decorated them with family.)
Ninth Date: Driving light tour (Instead of going to a huge one put on by the Chamber of Commerce, we drove around our neighborhood.) — check!
Tenth Date: Dinner date out
Eleventh Date: Seeing a holiday show (hopefully The Nutcracker) — check! (Hubby surprised me with tickets to the show.)
Twelfth Date: Surprise! This is something hubby will probably get to pick…
